Summer has been involved in some kind of ministry since she was 6 years old. It started with a dance team that she later came to direct. In 1994 the dance team consisted of four members; Kristina, Shawna, Jeni and myself. In 1997 we began to call ourselves LAPD (Life Altering Praise Dancers).
In 1999 the dance team Circle of Friends was at it's biggest with 16 members, a few of which were unable to be in the picture.

In 2002 Summer released her first CD Ignite Me.
It is currently playing on the radio in Honduras and Mexico. It is mostly English with some Spanish.

Summer - 2002 I visited Honduras with my father Pastor Slim Thompson. My CD was released there and I was given the opportunity to speak to singles about waiting for the one God has for them. I am always praying for the opportunity to minister to youth about the same message.
I met Ben Baker at college in 2002. We both graduated the following year. May of 2003.

On June 21st 2003 (the first day of Summer) Ben Baker and Summer Thompson were wed. So now my name is Summer Baker officially but my stage name remains Summer Rain.

These are our children...

June 5th 2005 - I am currently attending Jacob's Well here in Mt. Carmel. Their praise team is truly anointed with a gift of unity and prophetic music. That is where my heart has always been. I have a good friend (Audrey) to thank for this. She continued to convict me about going to Jacob's Well for over a year until I finally went. My first service there was on a Saturday night and I felt like I was home. I can feel God stirring up all of the old gifts in me as well as some new ones. For right now I am waiting for God to show me when to move into a ministry.

August 20th - I am in Texas with my brother my sister-n-law and my nephew. I'm here to go through the ROAD ADVENTURE. This is truly a God thing. The timing, the experience, the finances, everything. It never ceases to amaze me how well God plans things out. Even when I felt like he wasn't there, he was. And Praise God for my loving family that I am so blessed with.
Sept 16th - My husband is currently in Texas going through the ROAD ADVENTURE. I am praying for him.
God is so awesome, it never ceases to amaze me how he meets my needs even when I am not truly relying on him. I do not deserve his blessings. He even gave me a song about that very thing. It was actually inspired by a friend from the ROAD ADVENTURE. It's called "What it Takes". Look for it to be on my next CD.
