Pastor David Heigl was called into the ministry in 1975 shortly after being saved. In June of 1974, while attending a youth choir camp, Dave gave his heart to the Lord one evening as he and the rest of the group were singing and praising God. That night began what would later become both a calling and passion. The next summer Dave took over the youth choir at his local church when the choir director took a position in Florida. Dave had become an active member of the choir and had received a scholarship to study music at Eastern Kentucky University. So for the next summer Dave put together a touring choir and it was during that time that the Lord spoke to Dave about pursuing a call in music ministry. During his time at the university Dave took over the entire music program at that same church, and commuted for choir rehearsals and staff meetings. Then in 1979 upon graduation from college, Dave auditioned for the national traveling music ministry J.O.Y. Inc. based out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. For the next year Dave toured all across the United States and Canada. During his stint with the singing group Dave met a pastor who asked him to join his staff and relocate to Baraboo Wisconsin. Dave worked with the youth and led the music team at Baraboo Assembly of God for the next year, but the longing to lead a traveling music ministry and work with skilled musicians brought Dave back to Louisville in 1982. Dave became the youth, music and children's pastor at Louisville Trinity Church and at the same time founded "The Living Stones" (a music ministry that would eventually travel all over Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana and even find it's way to Virginia Beach, Virginia and back to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.) Shortly after returning home Dave met and married his wife Pam. Then, after a long time believing for a child, Pam gave birth to their daughter Faith in February of 1995. In April of 1995, accompanying pastor Slim Thompson from Tree of Life Church in Hustonville, Illinois, Dave took the ministry of "The Living Stones" and their wives to East Africa. That trip birthed the vision for missions in Dave and Pam's hearts. Since then they have done short-term missionary work in Africa, Honduras, Venezuela & Mexico with plans to go wherever the Lord opens the door. Dave served as an associate pastor of Louisville Trinity Church for nearly 19 years. Then in 1996 God spoke to Dave's heart and told him that someday he would become a pastor, a call that he and Pam had fought for a long time. Three years later they would plant a church with approximately 35 members. Servant's Heart Church has now grown to over 140 members and continues to reach out to their community, touch foreign lands, and minister to the local flock. Founded on the Biblical truth that we are to become servants, the church also continues to raise up servant leaders. It's our desire that every person at Servant's Heart Church find their place in the body of Christ and fulfill their God given destiny. The church also does it's best to minister the reality of the Gospel through demonstrating Jesus' heart and character. Trying to meet the changing needs of our culture, the church continues to look for new avenues to touch the lives of those seeking truth and restore those who have lost hope back into the fold.
